I'm 15 now, and I don't want to go to my dads anymore i go there everyother weekend and i would rather not go at all..what age do i have to be (by law) to make those kinds of desicions ? I think its 16 but im not sure. Could you help me out ?

16 is the age a child can be emancipated. I'm not exactly positive.

It depends on the state. Ask your Mom if you can talk to a lawyer and get some legal advice. Your Mom might have to file a petition for modification of custody to get your wish to not stay at your Dads

it USE to depend on the state. If a child is uncomfortable being with the other parent they can stress this in court ( providing they are old enough to KNOW right from wrong ) and have the visiting order revised.

In some states, it IS 16, but in some its not.Since my parents were divorced, I went from one house to another, too. But my dad died when i was eight (im ten now) so enjoy it while you can!
