I realize new cars these days probably don't come with ash trays, but can't they bring something to put this trash in instead of on the road?
I live in Hawaii, and it irks and disappoints me to see people doing that to such a beautiful place, not to mention the marine animals who eventually consume it!

I don't I use the ashtra and when I am smoking out side in a parking lot if someone walks by who has kids or what ever I put it out. I feel it is my addiction not theres and I am the one who choose it. I am not going to hurt other people or animals by doing so.

I agree, I really love it when I have my window down and the person in front of me has their ciggy hanging so far out the window that all the rest of the world gets to inhale too. I live in MN and we get a lot of fires on the highway in the summer because of inconsiderate smokers. When is smoking going to be banned altogether anyway?

You are painting with a very wide brush. I don't even smoke in the car, let alone throw the butts out the window.
BTW why are ALL non-smoker such smug, arrogant, stuffed shirts, who insist on playing God with every word that comes out of their mouth? Now I think I'll go wash my WIDE brush.

Because they are nasty people who are completely and totally inconsiderate of others.
Did you know that it takes years for a cigarette butt to decompose? Also, the chemicals that are trapped in the cigarette filters leech into the water supply, and can cause health problems for those who drink from that water supply.

They are aholes. we have foerst fires down here in florida all the time from people throwing their butts out the windows. tourist don't want that filth in their car, so they throw it out. like we want it on our streets. wander what would happen if you threw one in their car as you passed them? can you say drive by?
