Border: Missouri (which at one point had a secession called Kingdom City; the monarch lasted about 3 months before Union troops came in and kicked him out), Kansas, Kentucky/Tennessee.

The North and the South is divided (even today) by the Mason-Dixon line which starts at Maryland in the North.
