Check out El Mercado in the historic Market Square in downtown San Antonio, near the Riverwalk. It's the largest Mexican marketplace outside of Mexico.
I lived in SA for about 9 months and still have many things I purchased there. Very authentic.

-San Antonio Missions Trail (National Park sites, about 5 of them)
-Sea World Texas
-Fiesta Texas
-go to New Braunfels to the Schlitterbahn (German background town 20 miles north)
-See the Spurs play (depending upon season)
-Visit the Lone Star Brewery and its Hall of Horns
-Get lost in downtown
-See the Pioneer Flour mill
-Brush up on your Spanish speaking to locals
-Drive west to Del Rio to visit Ciudad Acuna MX

The Riverwalk is awesome. Great food, cool stuff. And if you are of age, some good drinking spots also.
