My doctor told me that the brands don't make a difference - as long as the vitamin contains certain amounts of each vitamin and mineral.
I take Nature's Bounty as a rule - it can be purchased at health food stores, pharmacies, supermarkets.

New Chapter makes an organic, whole food supplement, predigested with probiotic bacteria. Scranton University evaluated the relative bioactivity of the different types of selenium on the market: sodium selenite (a possible carcinogen) found in Centrum scored below baseline: -1. Selenomethione, an amino acid chelate showed some antioxidant activity at 3. Food grown selenium showed 238 times higher antioxidant activity than sodium selenite, and 64 time higher than selenomethione. This indicates that only food supplements truly are appropriate for our metabolism, and can contribute to filling the deficiency in our diet.
If you want to see the profound difference clearly go to www.centrumistoxic.com to see what's really in mass market supplements. The truth is rather disturbing.

You might want to try Source of Life liquid vitamin mineral supplement. It is vegetarian and has whole food concentrates. I have been taking it and it has a tropical flavor. Most health food stores sell it and since it is a liquid it is better absorbed into your system. There are many liquid supplements for your particular needs at these stores so I am sure the sales person will help you and go by your age and your needs.

I've been taking vitamins for years and am a bit of a snob about it. I don't believe in any drug store vitamins because they are full of fillers and do not go through your system. I believe if you are going to take a Multivitamin, go with a reputable company that has done the scientific research. The one I take uses black pepper and ginger for fillers which causes your system to absorb the vitamins completely. I pair my vitamin with a functional juice and it seems to cure anything that ails me!

Centrum is good, you just need to know what amount of what you are taking in order to be sure the "counterpart" is there... Example Vitamin C aids in the breakdown of Iron...
