I'm looking to buy a starter kit. I know next to nothing about what drum manufacturers are considered high quality. I found a Ludwig set at Guitar Center that I kind of like, but they didn't have it set up to try it out. Does anyone have any recommendations?

All I can recommend is to try before you buy.
Ludwig used to be the best.
Pearl has certainly taken over the top five slot.
Still...drums are a personal choice.
What feels & sounds right to me might not be the same for you.
TRY before you buy...and try LOTS of different kits.
It's your money and you don't want to waste it.

Pearl drum kits are the best and you can get a good stater kit set up just about any way you want if you go to the website or browse Guitar Centers
