I have had to buy several pairs of stereo headphones over the years. Has anyone ever had this happen?: I will have a pair of stereo headphones, use them on a regular basis, then all of a sudden one side will go out. Either the Left side or Right side will go completely dead. So I will be stuck with a pair of headphones where the music only comes out ONE side! What causes this and how do I avoid it?

I bought a pair of those $50 Sony earbuds made for jogging about 3 years ago. I go jogging at least 5 times a week, and they've lasted me so far. I would highly recommend those, even though they are crazy expensive for headphones.

I also have the Sony 50$ earbuds. They work great. Actually most Sony headphones are extremely well made (except for the 10 dollar ones). Its all about the quality of the soldering of the interior wires. I once took apart a pair of cheapo Accurian hadphones and it looked like the wires had been superglued instead of soldered....

This happens to me all the time. I think it has something to do with the wires breaking apart as a result of the headphones moving around a lot. My advice is to not waste money on expensive headphones, because it will happen to them too. Just buy cheaper ones.
