If it's your first child, the sickness may last longer than you anticipate. With my first child, I ate nothing but saltine crackers and ginger ale for more than four months. There's not really anything you can take, you just have to deal with it. But, if you can get something on your stomach, even if you throw it back up, you'll feel better in the long run. And when you are ready to eat more again, don't go overboard on whatever you end up craving. You'll get sick again from overdoing it. When I was able to eat good again, I went crazy on beef, any kind, and now I have a hard time even looking at a burger or steak. My oldest child is 5 now.

eat soda crackers before you get up in the morning, like while you are laying in bed. I have a cup of milk first thing in the morning with my pre-natal pill, that helps and for any other time i am sick during the day i eat crackers and sip ginger ale!
If you are still very very sick , you should see you doctor. I read that there is a type of morning sickness that can be life threatening! You would then i'm sure be placed on bed rest and given medication!
Good Luck and if you would like that link, i'll find it for you!

See your doctor and let him/her know how sick you have been. You may have "hyperemesis gravidarum" and you may need medication to help control the nausea. Being this sick can make you dehydrated and can be dangerous for you and the baby. You can also try some other methods include smelling lemons, taking ginger, and nibbling on crackers.
I don't know how far along you are, but for most women the nausea improves somewhere around the 12th to 14th week of pregnancy (beginning of the second trimester).

K.. I understand what you are going through, not just from a personal perspective, but I have seen it a lot in dealing with patients. Here's what we tell people to help them out.
Eat small, frequent meals every 2 hrs- 2 to 3 ozs of carbohydrates and protein are best- like a bbj sandwich, cut up into little squares and eaten.
Eat saltine crackers before getting out of bed in the morning and through out the day as needed.
Eat or drink something sweet- fruit, fruit juice- before going to bed and before getting up in the morning.
Avoid foods with strong and offensive oders, citrus, greasy and spicy foods and fatty foods.
Increase your rest.
At bedtime, try 1/2 unisome tablet or 100 mg B6 twice a day.
Take your prenatal at night with a glass of milk.
If this doesn't work, talk to you doctor. They can perscribe something to help.

First of all, be assured this is a temporary thing and even though it is horrible now one day it will be a fading memory.
Try keeping saltine crackers by your bedside.
Eat one whenever you wake up. Keep them around the house or wherever you are. The trick is to keep something on your stomach.
Call you dr. There may be something he can give you that is safe for your baby but be sure to check with him before you take anything

I was sick all the time. People keep saying "it will get better" and it didn't!!! I was sick until 3 days after birth!! Drink lots of water and gatoraid. It is worth the pain--but it did take me 6 years to have another child!

You've GOT to keep snacking if nothing else. When you don't, your blood sugar levels get low making morning sickness worse. So even if you're throwing it right back up, keep drinking things like fruit juice and eating things like crackers, cookies, etc. Plain toast works well as well as Saltine crackers and even Cheez-it's. Good luck and don't worry, it WILL get better, eventually. Keep your head up and know that this too shall pass. Hope this helped.

I found that gingerale with ginger powder sprinkled in it helped. You could also try Vit B6, it's been proven to help with morning sickness. There is a perscription antinausea drug called Diclectin also. It's a combination of Vit B6 and an antihistamine. It's made for pregnancy, so it is safe. I didn't take it, but several of my friends did. God Bless

I feel for you. I was that way with this pregnancy until about 2 months ago... and I'm just over 36 weeks now. Nothing worked for me except these lollipops my mom sent to me from the Motherhood Maternity Store called Preggy Pops. They were a life saver for me!
Good luck!
