Yes. I had to go to the doctor because it got so bad. I am told it happens quite often in early pregnancy. I suffered for more than two weeks!

Good luck with everything.

You're not drinking enough water.

Pregnancy naturally slows your digestive system so that your body can leach out as much nutrients from your food for the baby as possible....the number one side effect is constipation...closely followed by gas, heartburn, indigestion..etc.

Your prenatal vitamins probably aren't helping the situation.

Remember, for the sake of nutrition as well as the health and saftey of your poor poor colon, make sure you drink plenty of water as well as making sure you get plenty of fruits and vegetables as well as leafy greens.

"Eating for two" isn't necessary as you only actually need 300 extra calories per day during pregnancy...however "Drinking for two" is crucial. Make sure you get plenty of water..not only will it help your "little problem" but it will also force you to get a little extra exercise...cause you'll be running to the bathroom to pee every half hour. Good for you, good for baby!

Good Luck and Congratulations!

Yes.. and here's what you can do to help.

Use 2 Tbsp of unprocessed wheat bran or prune juice to your daily diet. Sprinkle over cereal, salad, or stir into juice. You can find it in the flour section at the store.

Increase your fluid intake.

Try bran 1st and if that doesn't work, try milk of magnesia or metamucil, colace or ducolax.

Increase exercise.

If these don't work, talk to your doctor.
