Talk to your mom. Tell her how you feel. Have an alternative plan like baseball or an art class. I understand. My daughter didn't want to do dance but I made her finish the year. Maybe your mom wants you to finish what you started.

I agree with Susan. Tell your mom how you feel, but have an alternative activity that you think you might enjoy, that you can suggest to her to do instead. It may be your mom wants you doing something where you are part of a group, learning some skills and hopefully enjoying yourself, and I think to many parents, Boy Scouts fits that bill.

As an eagle scout I have really benefited from what scouting has taught me. The leadership skills i learned helped me to become a very successful in the business world. I suggest you give it a try. If your "friends" don't understand maybe they are not your real friends.

Okay if you hate it that bad, tell your mom that you hate it but you better have a good reason why. If you are losing friends maybe you want to refrain from telling them you are in boy scouts. After all is said and done you might actually enjoy it.

Boy Scouts is one of the best organizations that you can associate yourself with. It will teach you life skills including discipline, trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, courteousness, kindness, cheerfulness, thriftiness, cleanliness, bravery, and reverence, among other things.

I promise you will be a better person for it. Sorry, but I side with the mom!

dude can i tell you a story. i started scouting at 7 years old and never stopped going and eventually became a scoutmaster. when i was in high school I felt the same way you are feeling, i believed that friends from school think it's uncool to be in scouts, but only because in hs school that's what peopole do they make fun of other people to make themselves feel more important!
5 years after high school i was sitting at a red light and someone from that high school that made fun of me for being in scouts pulled up in the next car over. he only had 15 seconds to talk to me before the light turned green. he olny had time to ask ONE question... his question was,,,

"Hey, did you ever make Eagle?"

you could have 2 or 3 sets of friends,, scouts is only a few hours a week. not a tough task!. no different than having a set of friends from little league. do you yourself stop being someone's friend if he has something to do away from you for a few hours a week? of course not! that person is not loosing friends just because he steps away from hanging out with you and your frineds for a few hours!
dude, if a freind is going to stop hangin with you becuase you are not with him for a few hours a week, i would question WHY he wants you all to himself all the time?!!!. hmmm?

sorry, but there is no merit badge for sitting on a couch getting fat and playing a video games. you could do that also, just not for that few hours a week of boy scouts. your friend can manage to live without you for a few hours a week. i'm sure.

even though you think you'll know your friends in high school forever, once you join the service or go to college, you'll see that those firends are much more awesome.. after you enter the real world you most likely not see them for a decade until the reunion.

please stay in scouts

tell her you are not enjoying it.

if you are losing friends over it - then they were not freiends to begin with.

boyscouts can be fun - why not give it a change - it also looks GREAT on a resume when you grow up!!
