i hate the chat rooms. are there other ways to me people on line? to talk to one person instead of 10 - 50?

Try dating sites, match.com, cupid.com, or yahoo personals. Or try "hotornot.com", it's a fun one too.

You could join a forum room in something that interests you. It is a little slower that chat rooms, but most of them have someone that watches the messages and makes sure that most are on the up and up.

I have the same question. In chat rooms I usually find people who are so much younger than me and I cannot find any similar topics of interest.
