A week isn't really alot of time...make sure u stretch before and after you exercise. Try walking every day leading up to your hike with maybe the exception of the day before but make sure you stretch regardless.

run or jog a lot and eat a healthy meal before
Good luck! we had to do those at camp for "fun" but it was so hard! Also be sure to wear good shoes and drink lots of water
