I am a math teacher who just finished teaching how to find the area of circle involving pi. The students were greatly interested in the concept of pi. For you to memorize the first 1018 digits of pi is highly impressive. To do it in 5 minutes is nothing short of astounding. You should be extremely proud. Congratulations!

I would say that's an amazing feat. Any memorization of digits beyond, say, 20 or 30 demands some time and effort. Over 1,000 puts you in the realm of amazing, or just crazy ;)

And at 3+ digits per second, too. Take a video, put it on YouTube.

That comes out to about 3-4 digits per second. If you memorized it, then recited it from memory, I'd say that's pretty impressive. But if you were just reading it, that's not impressive.
