I need a thesis on this topic that talks about all of this and The Troubles (1960s-1990s) and anything else that had to do with this whole fiasco.

I am not wise enough to come up with any kind of a thesis on the situation.

However the issue in Northern Ireland is political not religious. The media, who is always looking for short cuts and not the whole story, calls the participants Catholics and Protestants.

The conflict is about whether the British territory (probably the wrong word) of Northern Ireland should remain British or should become part of Ireland.

The majority of people in Ireland are Catholics. The majority of people in England and Northern Ireland are Protestants. There are actually Catholics and Protestants on either side.

The terrorists on either side if the issue are not Christian in any sense of the word.

With love in Christ.

The previous poster is expressing an opinion. The IRA many has been many things, including irresponsible , but they are not Marxist. The Irish Republican Army has the stated purpose of causing the re-uniting of Ireland (North and South) and the eviction of the British from the county. In the Republic of Ireland (south) Catholics are the majority, in the north Protestants are. Discrimation was rampant .

The 'troubles of the 20th century' were a ever widening circle of violence (see my comment on irresponsible) with the IRA, the British Black & Tan police force, and the anti IRA Provo's or Provisional Army. The IRA believed that violence would serve to force the British to abandon Northern Ireland as too much trouble.

Religion was used as a disguise for the true intentions of Republicans. The IRA was a Marxist-Leninist based organization intent on establishing a single Socialst government on the island of Ireland.

For those who refuse to see the truth, check out these comments about IRA leadership:

The Provos have consistently been dominated by such leaders as Brian Keenan, an outspoken Marxist and supporter of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The current leader of Sinn Fein and the IRA, Gerry Adams, is also a Marxist who idolizes Robert Mugabe, the brutal Communist dictator of Zimbabwe.
