Hello, i'm a in a fairly large marching band and part of a very very large trumpet section. I've only been playing trumpet a year and a half now and i am 3rd chair. Well the year i switched to trumpet my best friend was my section leader and he was a senior. Well when it was time for him to graduate and leave the band he signed me his solo on Amazing Grace. He said i was the only one he trusted with it. Well i practiced over the summer and when i come back the new section leader was playing MY assigned solo of Amazing Grace! The old section leader came back and also saw this....he wasn't too happy either....but is going to settle it with a try out for the part, because the new section leader wants the solo that i had permishion to have! Is it jelously??? I can hit above the staff and i only been playing year and a half, and the new section leader been playing 5yrs and just barely hit above the staff. Also i'm like the only girl, so it might be that too. How do i deal with this?????

If you want a good laugh, I highly recommend that you watch all the plays/movie's that Tyler Perry has out. He is a man that plays the character "Madea", the character is an old, but not so old stubborn woman, that keeps you laughing with her forwardness, the character is so funny, you actually forget, it's played by a man. The character"Madea", reminds me of the character Vicki Lawrence played, in "Mama's Family".
