n a blue moon there lived a green fairy
who led a life of music, friends
and art spun from unconditional love,
yet not unconditional surrender.
But in her life she felt a sad lacking.
She knew the time had come to be a wife.
"But to who? And how? And when?" she worried.
One night while in the Capricorn sky,
she glanced out a moon crater window and saw
an archaic dragon reciting poetry to Orion's stars.
Curiously, this thrilled her to weeping
and a longing for a husband to wed.
When quietly recomposed, she quick flew
down to the dragon as she withdrew
from her heart the perfect words to say.
The dragon saw her flying fast his way
and wondered, "What foolish fast food is she?"
A few feet from his reptilian nose,
the fairy fluttered to hover and spoke.
"Though we have not yet met, something tells me
we are supposed to know each other."
"Is that so?" the dragon asked,
preparing to make a crispy snack of her.
