在英文裡﹐裝扮成另一個性別(男扮女﹑女扮男)的單字是"cross-dress"﹐所以﹐
“女扮男裝”="a female cross-dressed as a male/a woman cross-dressed as a man"
“男扮女裝”="a male cross-dressed as a female/a man cross-dressed as a woman"
「結拜」是「互相許諾」的意思﹐因此英文可以用engage﹐所以
“結拜兄弟”="engage each other to be like brothers(sisters)"
brothers(sisters)還可以blood-brothers(blood-sisters)來替代以強調「如同親兄弟(姊妹)」
「提親」就是透過(via)第三者求婚﹐此第三者當然就是「媒人」了﹐「媒人」的英文﹕matchmaker﹑「求婚」的英文﹕propose﹐所以,
「提親」=propose via a matchmaker﹐如果媒人是特定人﹐比如父母(或家族長輩)﹐就可以用﹕
propose via my/his parents(family elderly)
