No 1 is correct.

"surprising" indicates the story or article reported on newpaper, not you.

V+ing or V+ed 這都當形容詞用,Ving 是令人感到.....(2)報紙總是有令人感到驚訝的事情 V+ed是你自己本身去感到....如 I am surprised我是"驚訝的" 這不是被動 而是一個形容詞去作主詞補語 (3)報紙上的事情總是感到驚訝(句子錯好難翻)它本身不會去感受"驚訝",而是它"令人驚訝" 所以你的答案是(2)

2) There is always some surprised things in the newspaper every day.(x)因為thing 是主因讓人驚訝 所以要用V+ing
3) There is always something surprised in the newspaper every day.(x) 同上 something是一件主因 發生的事 所以它用V+ing 如果今天是被動的才需要用V+ed
