不過，其實英語裡早就有表達上述中文意思的說法了，非常簡潔有力，要表達應該還是用這個：
"So far, yet so near." 或 "So far and yet so near."
底下這個網頁裡的一首英語小詩"Whisper of Life"（生命耳語）中第三句 (http://www.mailfriends.com/node/671128)是這樣寫的：
"A night sky full of stars so far yet so near" (夜空滿是星斗，遠在天邊卻近在眼前)
另外，亞馬遜網上書店有賣一本1961年舊書的書名 :

如果您是要把 "Far from reach but near at hand." 翻譯成中文, 那用 "遠在天邊,近在眼前." 不能說完全不對, 但是英文的引申含意應該是: "雖然遠在天邊,看似近在眼前." 也就是說, 這樣的語法中, 前半通常是說"外在/事實", 而後半則是"內在/感受". 也可以說成: "遙不可及, 卻近在咫尺."
