「從那裡到該處有多遠？」的英文說法？

我真正想問的是「從那裡到該處有多遠？」的英文能不能以下面的句子表現：

How far is it from there?

請不用給我其他的譯法，我想知道的是能不能使用"How far is it from there?"來表現「從那裡到該處有多遠？」的意思？如果不行，請麻煩說出原因好嗎？

因為有人說不行，但是我認為在以下的情境中，這句話就能表達上述的意思。如下：

A: "Where is the train station?"

B: "You can take MRT Danshui Line."

A: "Then how far is the train station from there?"

B: "About 10 minutes' ride."

在上面的情境中 不就能使用 "How far is it from there?" 了嗎？
(在句子中我用the train station 代替 it，但意思是一樣的)

"Then how far is the train station from there?"中的 there 是指"MRT Danshui Line" (意即MRT淡水線的某站，是哪個站，B還未說明)

如果要我說的更清楚的話，那我改成下面的句子好了

A: "Where is the train station?"

B: "You can take MRT Danshui Line. The MRT Station is right over there."(手指指著淡水線的某站入口的方向)

這樣又如何呢？

首先我覺得要搞清楚你的語意
就你上面的句子是很有問題的
請問火車站在哪裡A: "Where is the train station?" (你在a地問b在哪)
你可以搭捷運淡水線B: "You can take MRT Danshui Line."
那從那裡到火車站有多遠A: "Then how far is the train station from there?" (你發問b地離c地有多遠)
大概要搭十分鐘B: "About 10 minutes' ride."
你的前後邏輯有點小問題
對應火車站在哪裡的回答應該為
火車站在XXX地方,你可以搭捷運淡水線到達
之後才可以問說那從那邊到火車站有多遠
你才可以回答說it's about 10 minutes. or The ride would be about 10 minutes. 這是就語意上來說較精準的說法

回到你的基本問題
是的確可以說
How far is it from there?
但是要注意
當你這樣問時
一定是在a地問說b地離c地有多遠
要是在a地問說a地離b地有多遠
就可以改成
How far is it from here(a地)?

if yo say to foreigner: how far is it from there?

they may be able to understand what you mean,

but they will be confused.
