不是因為「 to + 原V」，省略 to ，V+ing嗎?

英語在一般的文法規則之外，有些字其實都有自己的特別用法，這都要稍微去注意和掌握的。以"主詞+have+名詞"的型態為例，一般以後面接不定詞為多，但還是有直接加動名詞或先接某個介詞再接V-ing的情形。例如以下截取自英語網站的句子(都是"had+名詞"的句型)便可以做比較了解：
... he had no intention of leaving ... (of V-ing) 意思
... Because then ge had enough willingness to produce a whole new design instead ... (to V ) 意願

以上諸例看過後已經很清楚了吧？為何"hope"後面接"for"，"prejudice"後面接"against"，其實是跟字的語意有點關係的，算是一種對語意感受上的選擇。像是"偏見"，是隱含一種對立關係，自然就會去接"against"。
版主所提問的"time"一字，用法都是後面直接接"動名詞"(V-ing)，而類似"time"這樣用法的字不多，像"difficulty"和"fun"也是。記的方法就是孰悉這些字，多看字典例句或利用網站搜尋功能來找就會有一大堆，記不得也難。
