答案[c]: until, 應該改為[before]or [when]:
We had been in the city not more than two days before/when we found that we needed a guide.

It was not more than two days later in the city when/before we found that we needed a guide.

We didn't find that we needed a guide until (it was) not more than two days later in the city.

We had been in the city not more than two days then (or and) we found that we needed a guide.
We didn't hire a guide until we had been in the city for two days.
