I would like to know where I can get/buy graphite for electrolysis. Does the purity affect the conductivity? If yes, better not telling me to get graphite from pencils because they are not pure. THX!!

you can get graphite rods by cutting open used zinc-carbon cells (the commonest and cheapest cylindrical dry cells, not alkaline cells) and taking out the graphite rods inside. The positive pole of zinc-carbon cell is made of graphite rod. If you are rich enough, you may use new cells.
