我沒見過英語中有這樣的諺語(固定格式)﹐而英語世界中有少數幾種“好人不長命”的表達方式(因為不是諺語﹐所以沒有固定格式)﹕
a good man doesn't live long
good people don't live long
nice people don't live long
禍害遺千年”的英文翻譯是﹕
the disastrous consequence can last for centuries.
其中的“disastrous consequence(災難性的後果)”及“last for centuries(延續數世紀)”分別當關鍵字上網作英文網頁搜尋﹐可以找到23000及61000多個英文網頁使用這種講法。
所以“好人不長命,禍害遺千年”整句可以翻譯為﹕
"Nice people don't live long while disastrous consequences can last for centuries"
