washington state ㄉㄧ部分 seattle

1.seattle

Hi there,

In response to your questions:
1. It rains a lot more in Winter, and often times it may appear sunny in the morning and start raining in the afternoon. It can rain hard and it can drizzle. That really depends.

2. There's certainly a decent Asian population (Korean, Japanese, Chinese). However there's not enough for you to communicate in Mandarin wherever you go (grocery store, restaurant, shopping mall). Frankly, the only place I can think of that you can get around with just knowing Mandarin is the International District (sort of like Chinatown).

3. This depends. But based on my past 5 years of experience living here, it ranges from 1-6 days/year. Even if it snows, there is rarely enough to accumulate.

4. The last time I checked it was around 8.8%, but don't quote me on that!

5. The University of Washington has a Master of Arts for Teachers (of English to Speakers of Other Languages) program (please refer to http://depts.washington.edu/engl/grad/MATESOL.html if interested). I wasn't sure about how good the program is so I checked the ranking at www.usnews.com. They don't have a specific ranking for TESOL, however in general the UW is ranked #8 in education programs. So you may want to consider!

I am a graduate student studying Physical Therapy at the University of Washington. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions about the area!
