美國健康教育體育休閒舞蹈學會根據適能(fitness)的觀點,認為健康是由五個適能(well-being)所組成: 計有 physical fitness、social fitness、emotional fitness、spitual fitness、culture fitness等

3.What is social fitness? It is a model that assumes social behavior is like going to the gym and working out with weights. The more you exercise, the more capable you become.

4. A risk factor is something that increases your chances of getting a disease. Sometimes, this risk comes from something you do. For example, smoking increases your chances of developing colon cancer. Therefore, smoking is a risk factor for colon cancer.

1. Wellness is generally used to mean a healthy balance of the mind-bodyand spirit that results in an overall feeling of well-being. It also refers to the state of being healthy.
2. Physical fitness refers to a state of health and well-being, or the ability to perform specific aspects of sports or occupations.
3. The Social Fitness Model views capabilities in demanding social situations as analogous to capabilities in demanding physical situations: one needs to get and remain fit if one expects to be able to function. Social fitness is achieved through practice.
As with physical exercise, there are many ways to exercise socially, and many different kinds of situations in which to practice and find enjoyment. Because shyness is conceptualized as a common emotional state as well as a psychological trait, problematic shyness and social anxiety are neither viewed as a debilitating conditions nor as pathology. They are states of mental and emotional fitness that are not optimal. A person may change behavior, thinking patterns, and attitudes, become more skilled at emotion regulation or simply choose a more appropriate social niche in order to attain a state of improved conditioning. With effort and practice, most people can attain an adaptive state of social fitness the same way that most people can attain an adaptive state of physical fitness.
4. A health risk factor is a variable associated with an increased risk of disease or infection. Risk factors are evaluated by comparing the risk of those exposed to the potential risk factor to those not exposed. Risk factors are correlational and not necessarily causal, because correlation does not imply causation. Statistic methods would be used in a less clear cut case to decide what level of risk the risk factor would have to present to be able to say the risk factor "causes" the disease.
