「御宅化」的英文翻譯-----
依據維基線上百科，"御宅族"(otaku)的英文字是"nerd"或"geek"(http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nerd)，是作名詞使用．
但是在美國University of Minnesota Morris大學網站上的一篇論述文字(作者Paul Carlson)，題目名稱是"Nerding the new fad"("新風潮御宅化"，網址http://www.mrs.umn.edu/register/article.php?volume=17&issue=12§ion=feature&index=0）已經將"nerd"一字當動詞使用（有趣的是，文中作者提到「御宅化」是起源於中國的"圍棋"局戲，如下：
Nerding is as old as games themselves dating back to the origins of the Chinese game of "Go." These games would last for hours on end, and people would practice and train for this game. Thus began the tradition of nerding. ）
其實，若用Yahoo的搜尋引擎，用"nerding"/"geeking"為關鍵字，亦可看到許多網站都將"nerd"和"geek"作動詞使用了．不過，字典還找不到這樣的用法解釋．
結論：英文"nerd"或"geek"兩字皆可表式「御宅化」的意思．用法上，有人用""nerd(geek) out"或"nerd sth. up"．

可以說: exclude/seclude oneself
(將自己與週遭的事情隔離起來)
EX: You can't seclude yourself from the world.
(人不能與世隔絕。)

再來有一種口語說法~
couch potato (對>>若直接翻譯就是沙發上的馬鈴薯= =)
意思就是成天只會賴在沙發上看電視>>不出門>>

口語化的話　我們通常會說　loner　吧...
不過不全然是御宅族的意思　也是那種　不喜歡跟人家溝通的

要不然　說　hermit　也可以
就是自己獨自生活　不跟外面生活街處的
