Sony在不同的時代有不同的使命宣言（Mission Statement），有的時候把它稱為「Sony企業哲學」（Sony Corporate Philosophy），也以「Sony企業社會責任」（Sony's Corporate Social Responsibility）出現。逐一說明如下：
