It was driven by the concept, which was introduced by Kiichiro Toyoda, founder of Toyota Motor Corp., of reducing the original Toyota 'seven wastes' in order to stop the repairing of poor quality and improve overall customer value. The original seven 'deadly wastes' are: Overproduction, Transportation, Waiting, Inventory, Motion, Over Processing, and Defects.
The set of TLPS of 'tools' that assisted in the identification and then steady elimination of waste, which were unique to Japan to make the quality improved, production time and costs are reduced.
