中文裡"上酒店"意思上就跟"去酒店"差不多，只是語氣上，就有些分別．英文裡也差不多，如果要正式一點的說"go to a pub (bar/club)"就是了，但如要帶一點俗語或口語語氣的字眼來表現中文"上"這個字，英語可以用"hit"，這樣就可以說"hit a pub (bar) / hit some club"(避免"hit a club"，因為"club"另有"球棒"的意思，"hit a club"很容易被解釋做"揮打球棒")，以下是用這些當關鍵字於Ｙａｈｏｏ美國站搜尋結果的節錄：
