1. handling of terrorism最好翻成“反恐施政”而非“反恐政策”﹐因為“政策”有其專有的名詞“policy”﹔which指的是“反恐施政”﹐而不是“半數美國人支持”這件事﹐所以第二句應該翻成“反恐是他從911攻擊事件後獲得90%民調支持率以來最一貫的施政重點”



2. 單單一個颶風似乎沒有對布希的總體施政的支持度造成明顯影響,事實上自去年初夏就一直(沒有反恐兩字)維持不上不下(比持平具有貶的意味)的局面。


3. 63%的人認為國家的走向嚴重錯誤﹐幾乎是認為走向正確人數的兩倍﹔是布希在去年惡耗不斷的任期中最差的水平。



4. 這些數據與上週所做的全國民調吻合,大致上與他就任以來最差記錄相同﹔與雷根總統及柯林頓總統當時的最差支持率相當,但比他的前輩,吉米卡特與理查尼克森的最差支持率還好的多.
