這裡的意思是說﹕因為綠茶(GT)﹑紅茶(BT)及綠茶萃取物膠囊(GTS)所含的多種黃烷醇成份比例都不相同﹑參差不齊﹐為了實驗必須有相同的比較基礎﹐作者只能選擇其中一種成份-EGCG作為比較基礎。也就是說﹐他分析計算後得到﹕能使EGCG攝取量最彼此接近的配置(administer)方式是﹕一次(one-time dose)飲用3包GT沖泡的茶﹑或4包BT沖泡的茶﹑或3粒GTS都可以獲得接近等量的EGCG。如此﹐再觀察﹑測量﹑比較接受實驗者從不同來源(GT﹑BT﹑GTS)吸收到體內的EGCG的效用有無差別才具有意義。
