我打( ) 的原本是畫底線，結果是 B錯了，書上的理由是『difference只能用 "between"，不能用among』，我聽了覺得很荒唐，這裡明明就有 3 個東西，不用among怎麼行？
還是difference不管後面接幾個東西都可以用"between"？

傳統的用法大家都背得很熟. ^_^
首先要說, between這個字是可以表達"介於三者(以上)之間"的語意. 但是它強調的是每一個單獨個體之間的關係. 而用among則把這些個體視為整個族群, 語意仍然有差異.
就本題而言, 強調的是每一種顏料之間的差異, 故以between較為恰當.
The only difference between watercolors, acrylics and oil paints is the vehicle that carries the pigment.
假設語意換成:
你可以在三種顏料之間任選一種來作畫.
就宜寫成:
You can pick any one among watercolors, acrylics and oil paints for you paintings.
再舉個例子:
The age difference between you, me, and Tom is no more than 2 years, so it's hard to pick out a leader among the three of us.
所以本題的重點不在於difference後面要接哪個字, 關鍵在於所要表達的語意. 否則您用"difference among"為關鍵字, 可以在Google搜尋到一拖拉股的用例.

Kevin 是正確的. Among 跟 Between 所表達的意思是有點不一樣的.

事實上 differences among是可以的 小心看
是differences (複數 )
我們一向看到句子是
the difference between boys and girls
the difference between the two (單數)
三者以上合情合理當然用among是正確 不該算錯
重點在differnce是用單或複數
the only difference betweem the four competitors is ....
the differences among the four competitors are ...

differencec後面不能用among喔
應該要用between才對
不管difference後面有多少東西都是用between
但若differ(動詞)的話
則後面是使用from

我上面只提到difference後面連接詞不能使用among
現在補充一下differences後面連接詞的用法
difference between 或 difference in 都是正確的用法
但difference among就不行了
若是differences則
differences between 或 differences in 及 differences among
在文法上都屬正確的用法
但避免文法上出錯
又或者跟著大多數美國口語上的用法
建議你都使用between
給你做個參考...^^
