Today I would like to talk about reading. In the present time, people do not read as much as we used to. Before computer comes out, people read books in their spare time, and in result, people read more books than today.Eventhough the literacy rate is higher(more people are reading), but the quality of reading is falling. I would like to propose people start reading more books and less blogs and yahoo knowledge. In reality, this is not going to happen. I would like to propose a system to promote good blogs, news, and yahoo knowledge to be read by the young people in this day and age.

Reading can enhance (增進) our knowledges. Reading can broaden (擴闊) our horizons (視野). Reading can cultivate (陶冶) our disposition (性情). Reading can improve our writing skills. Many advantages are herein the kind of activities.

There is an old Chinese proverb (諺語). "Golden house is in the book. Beauty is in the book." The metaphor (比喻) tells that book is a treasury (寶藏) and reading is an excavation (發掘). People know the benefits (益處) so well from ancient time (古時).

No matter English or Chinese, no matter newspaper/ fiction (小說)/ prose (散文)/ poem (詩)/ practical (實用性) subject/ story, there are various (多樣的) selection (選擇) for us to read. In the meantime (同時), we should make correct choice of the books. In fact, many gossip (八卦) and pronography (色情) magazines are comparatively (相對地) accessible (容易接近的) in the book stalls (報攤). Some are trifling (無聊的) while others are harmful to us teenagers as we may be influenced (影響).

In a nutshell (概括而言), it is worthwhile (值得) for us to spend time to reading. Virtually (實質上), we can enjoy this good habit (習慣) without spending even a penny (便士). My recommendation (推荐) is to go to the library. Classmates, why not consider to date in the library instead of karaoke or other high expenditure (消費) places.
