Uma questão interessante...sem dúvida. Creio que deveria ser proposta aos responsáveis, pois obviamente não deveria ser assim... Espanha e Portugal são vizinhos... os idiomas podem ser parecidos, mas distam muito de serem iguais... Concordo contigo!
Sin embargo (y ahora me cambio al otro idioma de la penísula, solo por ser equitativa)... me parece increíble que la gente te conteste indignada, como si de verdad creyeran que la pregunta va en serio!!!

Pues no. España y Portugal son dos países diferentes situados en la misma península. Lo que tiene en común es que los dos paises pertenecen a la CEE.No compartimos idioma, en Portugal se habla Portugués y en España se habla Español.
