StellaBlu's right, 'Tornerìa' is in the same time a kind of work and the 'local' where they do it. It derives from the verb 'tornare' (to return) 'cause the wooden pieces or other material, turn speedly to be worked and shaped. In English, the machine to do that I seem it's named 'turning lathe'.
