其實兩者的中文或英文解釋都大同小異,有時可通用, 但 over
the phone 有透過; 經由電話, 相當於 through the phone 的意思
如果有人找你媽,她電話中,我們通常說: She is on the phone. 而不會說: She is over the phone.
但如果你要告訴對方: 我媽正和她朋友講電話,這時用 on or over皆可: My mom is talking with her friend on the phone. = My mom is talking with her friend over the phone.
所以兩者有時可通用有時則略有差別, over則較強調 through的感覺. 像現在很多人喜歡透過視訊做些刺激的事,這時用 over the phone 會比 on the phone 更適當了

ex: I am on the phone. (我正在講電話; 我電話中)


2. over 透過 (電話,廣播 等)

oevr the phone 透過(經由)電話

ex: We talked about it over the phone. (我們在電話裡談論此事)


3. 但下面例子用on 或 over the phone 都可以

ex: I talked with Jane on/ over the phone. (我和珍在電話中交談)
