There is more to...... 的句形解釋

Question

There is more to..A.. than..B..

A 的部份,目前我看到的都是名詞
There is more to lavender than meets the nose.
There is much more to a good education than career preparation.
B的部份有時是名詞,有時是子句,
我想知道是否還有其它的寫法???
這種句型是要強調 A比較重要吧!

A)To acquaint with XX, there is more to him than his good looking.
B)I have been working for years. There is more to an ideal job
than making money. It should come along with learning and

A)句可能是我用錯字了,我原先的意思是
想熟悉他這個人,別以為他只是長得好看而已,
其實這個人是很有內容的.
麻煩您再補充一下,還是,不能套用此句形,應該有其它的寫法???

There is more to [A] than [B].
這樣的句型大致上是表達:
[A]所意味的, 不只是[B]而已.
不妨解讀為:
There is more than [B] to [A].
[A]之所以只能用名詞, 是因為to乃一介系詞.
[B]用名詞時, than當介系詞; 接子句時, than當準關係代名詞.
薰衣草所帶來的, 不只是香味而已.
良好教育的目的, 不只是為了將來的事業作準備而已.
也曾看過用it的句子:
It is more to [A] than [B].
It means more to [A] than [B].
但是不見得能完全套用, 須謹慎考慮前後文的意思.
(A)句的XX應該是指一個人吧.
要先講一下acquaint這個字. 它是一個及物動詞, 後面可以直接放受詞(人). 用法是"使(人)...熟悉...". 可以有雙受詞, 但是要用with或of(較少見)接第二受詞(人事物).
另外, "外貌"通常用"looks". "looking"是指"有...樣子的,看上去...的"(形容詞), e.g.: "a good looking guy".
在下解讀的語意是:
如果他要親近xx, 光是英俊的外貌恐怕不夠.
我覺得要寫成:
To get (himself) acquainted with XX, there is more to what he needs than his good looks.
To acquaint himself with XX, there is more to what he needs than his good looks.
一份理想的工作所應具備的不應該只是高薪而已.
There is more to an ideal job than a goog salary.

原句型的含意是: A有很多成分元素, B只是其中之一.
但是這句的結構是: [這個人](A)有很多成分元素, 其中[長得好看](B)和[很有內容](C)同屬於A.
B and C are mutually independent.

這句的確不太適用. 或許可以寫成:
If you are to know this man, there is more to the real him than your impression of his good looks. He is actually well-cultured.
or
If you are to know this man, he is not only good looking, but well-cultured actually.

這種句型呢 其實跟你講的沒什麼兩樣啦!
主要是在補充說A還有什麼~
Ex. There is more to the eye than the vision.
是在說呢 除了視覺以外 眼睛還有別的用處的!
多看點課外書, 因為光背文法 是不夠的~
