ha ha, since A is wrong, is D the right answer then?

the level would rise at the beginning due to the concentration gradient between the starch solution and distilled water, due to diffusion of water molecules into the capillary tube. As time goes on, the animal tissue would remove some starch as an energy source. This would decrease the starch concentration and water should diffuse from the capillary tube which lower the level. (the level should still be higher than the initial after 3hrs tho)

The answer is A . Omosis is taken place in this case because the water potential of distilled water is higher than starch solution . So the water outside will flow in the animal tissue pass though a differentially permeable membrane ( usually cell membrane ) .
