just men?lol.
i think it depend on the single person you consider....both the tourist and the italian.
saying that italian people do not like foreigners is like saying they all are racist...and it's not truth...we do not like unpolite tourist, we don't like noise allover museums, half-naked people into churches, drunk people laughing late at nioght into churches....but, fortunately, tourists are not all like these...
it's just a matter of respect: if you respect the people and the culture of the country you are in, surely people(i mean, italian) will accept you.
Tourist are most of all an economical resource for italy, so...you know...it is quite normal to deal with tourists:)

I am not sure. I think that many men in Italy don't like being disturbed by the presence of foreigners, others do instead. Since answering this question is not easy, I can claim that some do and some don't.
