Your spanish is not that bad; you just have small mistakes, like "mi español es no muy bueno". The right thing would be: "mi español no es muy bueno" (changing the order between "no" and "es")

Are you planning to travel to Latin America or Spain?
Greetings from Mexico

Whoever has told your spanish is wrong, is totally mistaken...
And the closer answer to what you are asking is "hablas ingles?", but it is also wrong...

You to write it like this:

"¿Hablas inglés?"

You spell it with two question marks, and "english" in spanish must be stressed, as I have showed you...

dude, don't worry about your Spanish... of course you'll be improving with practice, but the good thing about Spanish is, it doesn't matter much the order the words are in, but what they mean and the context of the sentence (as in most languages)...
e.g. if you wanna say "Juan goes inside the house and they all say surprise!":
see? they all mean the same, it all depends on the context.
Try to practice, dont be affraid of speaking/writing and you'll get to know the language.
I remember the case of a friend from the Netherlands; she spoke several languages, including English, but Spanish... she learned Spanish very quickly asking in English, translating to Dutch; in 3 months she was able to keep a conversation with a Spanish speaker and move around the city asking for directions. Of course, she always wrote any observation we made to her Spanish.
She used to read newspapers and translated from Spanish to English with a dictionary; she was more familiar to English, of course. If she'd understand something, she asked, everytime, all the time.
My advice is get someone to practice; you speak/write Spanish and the other person makes some corrections.

Tu habla espanol?
habla ingeles? is that how you spell it?

Traduccion:

¿Hablas español ? Mi español no es muy bueno. ¿ Mi español es bueno ?
¿ Hablas ingles?
