Decide whether the following statements are ture or not, and then circle Ture or False

1.The suction hook we frequently use in the bathrooms can stick to the wall because of the presence of the atmospheric pressure. (Ture or False)

2.If the number of gas particles in a closed can increases, the gas pressure is also increased. (Ture or False)

3.We are hit constanthy by air particles,so pressure is exerted on us. (Ture or False)

1. T Gas between the suction hook and wall is driven out and the atmosphere press the hook to the wall.
2. T When no. of gas particles increase. the number of particle collided with the can per second also increase, it increase the pressure.
3. T the atmospheric pressure put on our body is just for this reason.
4. F gas pressure is due to collision of particles on the container wall.
5. F It is the distance between particles decrease. not the particle size decrease.

1. True - Since the air of the inside of the suction hook is pushed out that makes air pressure inside lower than the atmospheric pressure, the hook is pushed by the atmospheric pressure towards the wall.

2. True, provided the temperature is constant. The number of gas particles increases means the number of moles of gas increase. By looking at PV = nRT, V, R and T are constants (V is constant because the gas is confined inside the can.)

3. True - The gas pressure is the result of the bombardment of gas particles.

4. True - The same principle as (3)

5. False - Instead, the volume and density are decreased. The mass of the particle will not be changed. Otherwise, there will be a chemical reaction that change the gas compounds from one to another,
