譯文Large size rooms may not be elegant. Small number flowers can be fragrant.

An elegant room defies any judgement of spaciousness.
The appeal of fragrance belies volume but its uniquess.

Kevin,
Actually, I think the original meaning carries well with "uniqueness". It is not really a numbers game. It is the "special"..."uniqueness" that the Chinese phrase connotes, at least in my own interpretation.
Thanks for the chance of discussion.

Just realized that there is a typo in the original sentence.
The appeal of fragrance belies volume but its uniqueness.
The work "uniquess" is wrong.
Please accept my apology.

A room doesn't have to be large to be elegant, and flowers don't have to be legion to be fragrant. An elegant room is not necessarily large, and fragrant flowers are not necessarily legion. What counts for a room is not its size but elegance, and what counts for flowers is not their numbers but fragrance.

Nice work, T40.
I humbly wonder if you consider "solitariness" more preferable than "uniqueness" to convey the expression for numbers rather than styles?

Well, that's inspiring.
Glad to have discussed with you.
