Iron (Fe) has metallic structure, in which the iron atoms are held together by the free electrons delocalizing in the metal lattice. The binding forces are the electrostatic attractions between the positively charged atomic nuclei and the negatively charged free electrons.
Haematite (Fe2O3) has ionic structure, in which the positively charged iron(III) ions (Fe^3+) and the negative charged oxide ions (O^2-) are held together by electrostatic forces.

It is C, not C2. Besides, it is Fe, but not Fe2. The equation should be
2Fe2O3 + 3C → 4Fe + 3CO2
