Parallelshttp://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/Boot Camphttp://www.apple.com.tw/macosx/bootcamp/publicbeta.html

Disadvantage? I would say very few, depends upon what perspective you are into. For example, the weight could be one of the consideration if you think it is essential to your personoal use in everywhere.

Parallel is okay with MacBook Pro, no problem at all. But, you need to get enough memory to run it, otherwise, it could be extremely slow when you attempt to run both Mac OS X and Windows XP at the same time.

It is possible to run Windows XP application under the Parallel environment, but everything for that required "huge" memory. In another word, Mac is Mac, you don't need to perform Windows on MacBook unless you have such demand.

I personally do not recommend to run the Parallel or BootCamp in MacBook Pro, although it looks like compatible somehow.
