I hadn't seen her in a while.
It had been a while since I had seen her.
I hadn't seen her in some time,...seria o mais proximo da traducao ao pe de letra.

Sua pergunta tem duas respostas,dependendo da situação...
1 Se você estiver frente- a - frente com uma pessoa que não
vê faz muito tempo você cumprimenta dizendo:
- It has been a long time since I last saw you.!
Se você e outra pessoa(s) estiverem se referindo ah uma
terceira pessoa que você não vê faz muito tempo,você diz
- It has been a long time since I have last seen her ou
- It has been a long time since I last saw her..
A diferença esta no uso dos pronomes na primeira ou terceira
pessoa de acordo com a situação.

O correto é:
1) "Long time no see!" (se você estiver falando diretamente com a pessoa a qual você não via há um tempão)
2) "It 's been a long time since I last saw her." (se você estiver contando para alguém sobre uma outra pessoa que você não via há um tempão)
