到底英國國歌God save(s) the Queen/King個save字後面有冇s？

大家都知道present tense入面，first同second person之後verb唔駛加s，而third person就要，咁God係咪third person？定係God根本唔係person，所以唔駛加s o係verb後面？

God save the Queen/King 的 save 是不需要亦不必加 s 的.
這個答案已經有數位答(估?)對了, 可惜他們的解釋並不正確. 在一般情況, God 既然是「單數」, 就應該如其它 third person 的主詞一樣, 在 present tense 的動詞後加 s. 例如, 愛因斯坦曾經說過: God does not play dice (即上帝唔係「亂來」的).

但是, 如你所問的句子並不是在描述一件事情 (即上帝救了女皇/皇帝), 而是代表一個意願. 當我們用 God save the Queen/King 時是希望上帝會拯救(或應譯為「看護」)我們的女皇/皇帝. 在此情況下, 我們不須加 s. 同樣道理, 當你向人說 God bless you! 並不是你知道上帝正在保佑你, 而是希望上帝會保佑你, 所以也不加 s.

大部份情況現在式 God 是用第三身單數即係動詞加 s , 例外有打完乞嚏講嘅 God Bless You!

我估 應該是

God , Save the Queen !

但因為這是國歌, 所以寫成簡化了的 God Save The Queen

saves 後面要加 s，因為 God 只得一個，亦係 third person，

所以，所用的 verb 後面是要加上 s 的。
