切線速度 (在切削刀具上,稱為切削速度 Cutting Speed, 縮寫 Vc, 公制單位: m/min. 英制單位 SFM(Surface Feet per minute), 它的定義是: 切削刀具刃尖與工件的相對速度)
刀具每刃進給速率 : feed per tooth 單位: mm/tooth. 或 inch /tooth)
刀具刃數: Teeth number
切削深度 : Cutting depth 常用符號: Ap
刀具直徑: Diameter (通常不特別說明是刀具)
切削幅寬: Cutting width 常用符號: Ae
材料係數: Material factor (Kc通常用於計算切削力)
刀具每刃進給速率係數: Factor of feed per tooth (刀具廠商提供給使用者計算進給率使使用, 同切削速度係數, 刀具廠會提供此係數,調整工件材質、夾持狀況等變化狀況)
刀具切線速度係數: Factor of cutting speed
切削型式係數: Factor of cutting style
主軸轉速: Spindle speed 每分鐘迴轉數 (revolution per minute= r.p.m.)

切削力 cutting force (KN 千牛頓) 或 kgf

切削扭矩 : cutting torque (Nm 牛頓-米), (Ncm, kfg-cm, lb-ft 等等扭力單位)
主軸馬達切削功率 : Power of spindle motor
切除率 : metal removing rate
(通常以每分鐘切削掉的金屬體積, C.C./min.)
以面銑來計算: 切削深度X銑削寬度X每分鐘近給率/1000= c.c. /min.
