The movie is in theaters now.就這麼簡單，"電影在電影院裡"，意思就是上映中拉，英語有時就是這麼白話...。另一個相關用法'in stores now'也很常見，例:Britney's new album is in stores now.布蘭妮的新專輯發售中。至於release 是指發行的意思，可以用在書籍、CD及DVD等的出版另外提供二個常見的形容電影「製作階段」的詞：The movie began/ started filming in Shang-hai last month. 電影上個月於上海開拍。The movie is in post-production. 電影已進入後製階段。

The movie is in theaters now.theater要用「複數」喔，因為通常不會只在一家電影院上映吧，某些獨立小片例外…

release 也可以，它也可以用在 唱片發行，書籍的出版…等
還有一個字 present/presentation(名詞)也有看過
