Not until 的用法

學校老師教not until數種句型的代換 例如
I didn't go to bed until 4:00 a.m. last night.
= Not until 4:00 a.m. did I go to bed last night.
= It was not until 4:00 a.m. that I went to bed last night.

我想請問 同ㄧ句我也可寫成
I stayed up until 4:00 a.m. last night.
換成It is...that...的句型呢 會變成什麼?
It was until 4:00 a.m. that I stayed up?
It was until 4:00 a.m. that I went to bed?
我都搞糊塗了 請幫幫我 謝謝

我也覺得It was until 4:00 a.m. that I stayed up這句很奇怪 可是為什麼呢 跟肯定句否定句有關嗎? 為什麼我不能強調我就是熬夜到凌晨四點鐘?

not until的句型用法，是這樣子的。關鍵其實在動詞才是。

這幾句都是正確的。
第一句是一般not until句型
第二句是not until置於句首，因為是not否定副詞，主要子句的主詞和動詞就必須倒裝。
第三句是分裂句的句型，用於加強語氣。也就是套上It is .....that的結構。把原句要加強的部分寫在 it is的後面，其餘的寫在that後面就對了。

再來討論後面你寫的三句，這三句也是正確的。

換成It is...that...的句型呢 會變成什麼?

那為什麼不加not呢？
這是動詞的關係。
在這裡，動詞分兩種，一種是持續的動詞，如 stay, stand, sit 等，這些動詞的動作是可持續的，這時，如果用於not until句型時，必須用肯定結構，也就是不加not。
但如果像go, know等動詞，是一種瞬間的動作，你沒有動作，就不算go，但一走路，就是go了。know也一樣，不知道時，不算know，要全然知道才是，這是瞬間的動作，碰到這樣的動詞，本句型就必須加not了。
不知道這樣的解釋清楚沒？

跟
It was until 4:00 a.m. that I stayed up.
是表示一樣的意思。

但是
It was until 4:00 a.m. that I went to bed.
這句有問題，不能這樣翻譯。
硬要翻的話這句意思也會變成：
「我一直到四點才下床。」
